UNICEF will transfer UAH 2.01 billion to the humanitarian account of Ukraine’s Ministry of Social Policy, with the funds to be distributed among households in frontline regions.

“As part of preparations for the winter period, UNICEF, with financial support from the governments of Germany, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as national committees, will provide cash assistance to vulnerable families living near the frontline,” the statement said.

A total of UAH 2,012,792,601 will be transferred to the Humanitarian Response and Resilience Account opened by the ministry at the National Bank of Ukraine.

The funds are intended to support people living in frontline areas and provide essential assistance to children and their caregivers during the most difficult winter months.

Under the programme, more than 104,000 households will be eligible for a one-time cash payment of UAH 19,400.
