The Memorandum of Understanding between the Joint Stock Company Ukrainian Defense Industry (UOP) and the Swedish defense company Saab will strengthen the aviation sector of UOP’s enterprises.

This was stated by the head of Ukroboronprom, Herman Smetanin.

“I am very pleased that we are moving toward turning this ambitious project into reality. This cooperation will significantly enhance the aviation direction of UOP’s enterprises, allowing us to further strengthen the Ukrainian armed forces,” Smetanin said.

He thanked Saab’s Deputy CEO Anders Carp, who, together with Smetanin, signed the cooperation document, as well as the entire Saab leadership for their readiness to cooperate and the concrete steps taken toward achieving shared goals.

The memorandum, signed yesterday on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference (MSC), formalizes key agreements on cooperation in aviation and radar surveillance.

Saab, in turn, noted that Ukroboronprom has substantial experience as a strategic producer of weapons and military equipment. Saab, a leading Swedish defense and security company, is ready to contribute its extensive expertise in the defense industry, as well as its advanced knowledge in aviation and airborne surveillance technologies.
