Ostchem, the nitrogen holding of Group DF, has announced the launch of production for a new nitrogen fertilizer, ammonium nitrate AMS30.

“We used international experience to make fertilization more effective and fertilizers more affordable. By using steam instead of gas, we reduced dependence on energy resources and optimized the product’s cost. Full-scale production launch is expected in the second half of April,” the company said.

The project, which took six months to implement, involved investments of UAH 10 million. AMS30 contains 30% nitrogen, with options to add calcium and magnesium, and plans are underway to include sulfur at concentrations of 4.7% and 7% in the second stage.

Initial production will reach 600–800 tons per day, with plans to increase capacity to 1,600 tons daily. The company noted that its pilot batch of 600 tons sold out within hours.

Ostchem is the nitrogen holding of Dmytro Firtash’s Group DF, uniting Ukraine’s largest mineral fertilizer producers. Its portfolio includes Rivneazot and Cherkasy Azot, while Severodonetsk Azot and Stirol remain non-operational in occupied territories.
