Russia has changed its drone attack tactics since around the middle of July, periodically deploying Banderol loitering munitions and Shahed-238 jet-powered drones, according to Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesperson for the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"They have started periodically using Banderol loitering munitions, as well as Shahed-238 drones, which are jet-powered UAVs," Pletenchuk said during a television broadcast.
According to him, Ukrainian forces are working to counter Russian attacks as effectively as possible, with the Ukrainian Air Force, Naval Aviation, and Army Aviation all involved in air defense operations.
"Of course, we are doing everything we can to minimize the impact of these attacks. In any case, we will continue working in this direction," the spokesperson said.
Pletenchuk added that interceptor drones are also being used to counter Russian aerial attacks.
"Interceptor drones are operating as well. We have faced similar challenges before. During the full-scale invasion, this is neither the first nor even the second such crisis," he said.
According to Pletenchuk, the Naval Forces are continuing to develop countermeasures.
"Right now, we are working to reduce the impact of this situation as well. I am confident that sooner or later we will find a solution," he said.
