Ukrainian Navy: Kinburn spit remains active combat zone

The Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have denied reports claiming that Russian troops have withdrawn from the Kinburn Spit. This area of the front remains a combat zone and retains strategic importance for the occupying forces.

This was stated by AFU Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk in a comment to Suspilne Mykolaiv.

“We are currently observing the process of destroying Russian logistics. This is a consistent process; it has been ongoing not for a year, not even for a month. But as of now, the Kinburn Spit remains a combat zone,” he said.

The DeepState monitoring project, following the Navy’s statement, also denied reports of a Russian withdrawal from the Kinburn Spit, noting that drone launches toward Mykolaiv and Kherson continue from the area.

It also stated that electronic warfare (EW) systems are still present there.

“Defense Forces are trying to make the enemy’s presence and operations as difficult as possible. There is no offensive on the Kinburn Spit, and the flag being dropped by drone is simply a pleasant fact,” DeepState wrote.
