Ukrainian product IT company Jiji, a spin-off of the Genesis holding and the largest owner of classified ads platforms (similar to OLX) in Africa, has announced the acquisition of the largest similar platform in Bangladesh — Bikroy.

“We are continuing our work — with the acquisition of the largest classifieds platform in Bangladesh, a country with a population of 175 million, we now have every chance of becoming the largest classifieds platform in emerging markets,” said co-founder Volodymyr Monogletnii in a Facebook post.

According to him, the company had previously acquired OLX and Cars45 businesses in Africa, as well as Tonaton.

The product IT company Jiji was founded together with entrepreneur Anton Volianskyi in 2014 within the Genesis ecosystem. By 2023, the marketplace became profitable, and in 2025 the company paid its first dividends.

“This shows that it is possible — and necessary — to invest in valuable long-term stories over many years, and that this is normal,” the co-founder noted.

He added that Jiji is currently a leader in markets with a combined population of over 500 million people. Among other things, it is the largest classifieds platform in Africa for cars, real estate, and electronics.

“Millions of people use Jiji every month. In the countries where we operate, the Jiji brand is known by more than 50% of the population,” Monogletnii emphasized.

The Bikroy marketplace was founded in 2012. The platform specializes in a wide range of classified ads — from cars, real estate, electronics, clothing, and household goods to jobs and services.
