Ukrainian drones launched a massive attack on the city of Novorossiysk in Krasnodar Krai on the night of April 6, regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported.

According to videos published on social media and analyzed by Astra, the Sheskharis oil terminal was hit — one of the largest oil and petroleum product transshipment complexes in southern Russia, with strategic significance. It plays a key role in the operation of the Novorossiysk seaport and the entire export infrastructure of the southern part of the country.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine previously stated that the oil terminal is used to supply Russian military formations engaged in combat in Ukraine. Drones had previously attacked the terminal on March 2, causing a fire on its territory. It was also targeted in November 2025, at which time the oil depot and the pier of Chernomortransneft were damaged.

The latest strike on the Novorossiysk oil terminal continues Ukraine’s series of attacks on Russian port infrastructure. Since mid-March, Ukrainian forces have concentrated on strikes against Russia’s two largest ports on the Baltic — Primorsk and Ust-Luga — through which about 40% of the country’s oil exports pass. The most recent attack on Primorsk occurred on April 5.

During the nighttime strike on Novorossiysk, the Ukrainian Drone Forces also targeted the frigate Admiral Grigorovich.

The frigate was actively involved in defending the port, using its air defense systems.

In addition, the Drone Forces, together with the Ukrainian Navy, struck the Sivash drilling rig.
