Ukrainian defenders are conducting search-and-strike operations to prevent the Russian forces from infiltrating the settlement of Berestok in Donetsk region, the spokesperson for the “East” group of forces, Hryhoriy Shapoval, reported.
“Berestok is currently under the control of our Defense Forces, but the enemy is attempting to infiltrate in small groups, occupy the space between positions, or fortify themselves in buildings. At the same time, our Defense Forces are conducting search-and-strike operations, and the enemy is being eliminated,” Shapoval said.
He noted that a Russian assault group typically consists of about three people, and it is currently difficult to determine the number of attackers trying to enter Berestok.
“The exact number cannot be stated, as they are approaching this settlement from three directions,” the spokesperson explained.
He added that with changing weather conditions, when snow has fallen, it is easier for unmanned systems forces to locate and eliminate the Russian forces.
“Despite loud statements by the enemy about alleged ‘advances’ near Berestok in Donetsk region, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold designated lines, control key approaches to the settlement, and prevent the enemy from establishing a foothold,” Shapoval emphasized.
