The number of logistics and evacuation missions carried out by unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) on the Ukrainian front line has increased more than threefold since the beginning of 2026.
According to data from the DELTA combat system, UGVs conducted more than 25,000 missions in August alone, compared with around 7,500 in January.
Ground robots are increasingly being used in high-risk areas to perform tasks that would otherwise require Ukrainian service members to enter dangerous positions. They deliver ammunition, water and food to frontline units and evacuate wounded soldiers.
As of early September, DELTA had recorded around 112,000 logistics and evacuation missions involving UGVs since the beginning of the year.
The number of missions has grown steadily each month:
- January: 7,511
- February: 7,960
- March: 9,072
- April: 11,028
- May: 14,059
- June: 16,664
- July: 19,940
- August: 25,143
In August, UGVs therefore carried out 3.3 times as many logistics and evacuation missions as in January, highlighting their rapidly expanding role in frontline operations and efforts to reduce risks to Ukrainian personnel.
