The first batch of food supplies, totaling 2,618.15 tons, has arrived in the Republic of Kenya under the humanitarian initiative “Food from Ukraine” launched by the President of Ukraine. The total volume of the food shipment exceeds 3,600 tons.
The cargo was delivered in coordination with the UN World Food Programme (WFP), which will ensure its further distribution among the most vulnerable populations, including refugees in the Dadaab and Kakuma camps. The project was implemented with the support of Slovenia and Austria.
The official handover ceremony took place at the port of Mombasa with the participation of Ukraine’s Ambassador to the Republic of Kenya Yurii Tokar, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia (non-resident in Kenya) Kristina Radej, and representatives of WFP in Kenya.
Ukraine continues to consistently implement the “Food from Ukraine” initiative in cooperation with international partners and relevant UN agencies.
