Ukraine has received the final tranche from the United Kingdom in the amount of 752 million pounds sterling (approximately 1 billion US dollars) under the G7 Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration for Ukraine (ERA) initiative. The funds will be directed toward strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities.

“I am grateful to the Government of the United Kingdom for its consistent and decisive support for Ukraine in countering Russian aggression during the fifth year of the full-scale war. The provided financing is earmarked and will be directed to meeting priority needs of the security and defense sector,” said Ukraine’s Minister of Finance Serhii Marchenko.

It is recalled that on March 1, 2025, Ukraine’s Minister of Finance Serhii Marchenko and the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves signed an agreement to provide Ukraine with 2.26 billion pounds sterling (about 3 billion US dollars) for defense needs.

The first two tranches totaling 1.5 billion pounds were received by Ukraine in March and April 2025.

The funds are part of the G7 ERA mechanism with a total volume of 50 billion US dollars. The loan is serviced and repaid using future profits generated from immobilized Russian sovereign assets. The financing is provided over a 30-year period.
