Ukraine plans to increase the capacity of cross-border power transmission lines with the European ENTSO-E network by 1.5 GW over the next two years, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported.
“Many tasks lie ahead, with the top priority being the expansion of capabilities for electricity imports and exports with Europe. Over the next two years, we plan to add at least 1.5 GW of cross-border capacity,” the ministry stated.
The Ministry of Energy also reminded that March 16 marks four years since Ukraine joined the European power network.
“In these four years, Ukraine has gone from zero to 2,450 MW of import capacity — from emergency assistance to integration into the unified European energy market,” the ministry emphasized.
