A Ukrainian delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Oleksandr Mishchenko will pay a working visit to New York on April 27 to participate in the 2026 Review Conference on the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the visit, the deputy minister will take part in the opening of the conference “Nuclear Safety and Security in Ukraine during the War: Ensuring Safety of Nuclear Facilities while Marking the Fortieth Anniversary of the Chornobyl Disaster” and will hold a series of bilateral meetings with senior officials from foreign states and international organizations, including the UN Secretary-General and NATO leadership, the foreign ministry said.
Mishchenko will speak at a thematic event dedicated to Ukraine’s nuclear safety amid Russian aggression and will take part in high-level open debates of the UN Security Council on maritime security.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that Ukraine’s participation in the NPT Review Conference is an important element of efforts to strengthen the global nuclear non-proliferation regime, draw attention to threats to nuclear safety, and consolidate international support for Ukraine.
