On the night of April 21 (starting from 18:00 on April 20), the Russian forces attacked with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles launched from Russia’s Kursk region, as well as 143 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types and other drones launched from the directions of Kursk, Bryansk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Crimea) and temporarily occupied Donetsk. Around 80 of them were Shahed drones.
The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare (EW) units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data as of 09:00, air defense shot down or suppressed 116 UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas types and other drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
Hits by 22 strike UAVs were recorded at 17 locations.
