On the night of May 21 (starting from 6:00 p.m. on May 20), the Rssian forces attacked with an Iskander-M ballistic missile launched from Russia’s Rostov region, as well as 116 strike UAVs of the Shahed type (including jet-powered variants), Gerbera, Italmas, and decoy drones of the “Parodiya” type launched from the directions of Kursk, Bryansk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data as of 08:30, air defense shot down or suppressed 109 UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other drone types in the north, south, and east of the country.
Hits by the ballistic missile and five strike UAVs were recorded at five locations. Debris from downed targets fell at four locations.
