Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi discussed further cooperation on Ukraine’s reconstruction with Etsuro Honda, Speaker of Japan’s House of Representatives.
The Prime Minister reported this following their meeting in Kyiv.
“We met in Kyiv with Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan Etsuro Honda. [...] We discussed support for Ukraine’s energy system. We are grateful to the Japanese government and JICA for the equipment already provided. It is important to accelerate the delivery of power transformers, which frontline regions need this winter,” Koretskyi said.

Koretskyi also invited Japanese businesses to become more actively involved in Ukraine’s reconstruction, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors, and stressed Ukraine’s readiness to create the necessary conditions for joint projects.
Ukraine is also counting on cooperation with Japan to establish an insurance mechanism for businesses operating under the constant threat of Russian attacks.
The Prime Minister thanked Japan for its comprehensive support for Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, noting that the budgetary component of this assistance has already exceeded $20 billion.
