Ukraine carried out a second strike on the petrochemical plant in Salavat, Bashkortostan, Russia.
The plant area is shrouded in thick smoke, with several fire hotspots reportedly visible.
The head of Bashkortostan confirmed the attack on Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat.
“‘Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat’ was hit by another terrorist drone attack. We are assessing the extent of the damage. All emergency services are on site, and measures are being taken to extinguish the fire,” wrote the head of the republic, Radiy Khabirov, on his Telegram channel.
LLC Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat was previously attacked in May 2024. The company is part of PJSC Gazprom and operates the largest oil refining complex in southern Bashkortostan.
The enterprise carries out a full cycle of hydrocarbon processing and produces over 150 types of products, including automotive gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, and polyethylene.
In addition, strikes were reported on railway infrastructure in three locations across Kursk and Belgorod regions, as well as on the Belgorod-based “Frez” plant.
