In Jeddah, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. The leaders discussed the implementation of a strategic security agreement in three areas.
“The first is the export of our Ukrainian security expertise and capabilities in protecting the skies. The second is energy cooperation, which strengthens Ukraine’s resilience in this difficult time. The third is food security. We are working together to strengthen our peoples and our partners,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
The President emphasized that Ukraine is ready to share its experience and expertise for mutually beneficial cooperation with Saudi Arabia in protecting lives.
Special attention was given to issues of energy resilience, particularly in connection with the fuel market crisis caused by the situation around Iran and the blockage of the Strait of Hormuz.
They also discussed prospects for Saudi Arabia’s participation in infrastructure projects, Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction, as well as partnerships in the financial sector and other state projects.
The leaders set tasks for their teams and expect their prompt and full implementation.
“At a time when international relations are significantly destabilized, it is precisely this kind of bilateral work that restores confidence. We also exchanged assessments of the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf. We hope there will be more security, and we are contributing to that,” the President of Ukraine emphasized.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud about the progress of negotiations aimed at ending Russia’s war against Ukraine and thanked him for all the efforts made by Saudi Arabia.
