In Oslo, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Jonas Gahr Støre signed a declaration on defense partnership.
The signing was broadcast on the YouTube channel of the Office of the President.
“Today we launched a drone deal with Norway; our teams will now work on the details. We are also focused on our joint production projects—they are already underway. We need to make them stronger,” Zelenskyy said after signing the declaration.
The President also expressed gratitude for Norway’s significant contributions to the PURL programme, which strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities—particularly its air defense—since funds from the program are used to purchase American PAC-2 and PAC-3 missiles for Patriot systems capable of intercepting ballistic targets.
Zelenskyy separately thanked Norway for its support of Ukraine’s energy sector.
“It (the assistance) helped greatly during this most difficult winter,” he added.
