Ukraine, together with NATO, has launched the first competition under the UNITE — BRAVE NATO program, aimed at creating joint defense solutions between Ukrainian companies and firms from Alliance countries.
The first stage of the competition involves matchmaking—forming B2B partnerships between companies from Ukraine and NATO member states for the joint development of technological products for the Ukrainian battlefield.
“Brave1 Defense Innovation Cluster is coordinating the program on Ukraine’s side. A dedicated functionality has been created on the Brave1 portal for effective interaction, accessible after registration and verification,” said Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov.
The theme of the first competition covers countering enemy UAVs and air defense solutions:
- Active protection systems against FPV drones;
- Countering Shahed-class drones;
- Enhancement of signals intelligence (SIGINT) and electromagnetic technologies;
- Development of autonomous targeting systems;
- High-altitude flight platforms.
The total budget of the first competition is €10 million, with up to €1 million allocated per joint project, capped at €500,000 per partner.
Winners are expected to be announced in summer 2026.
Registration for the competition is available on the Brave1 portal.
