An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission led by Gavin Gray began meetings with Ukrainian authorities and other stakeholders in Kyiv on Monday as part of a staff visit, the IMF’s representative office in Ukraine reported.
“Discussions will focus on the economic outlook, the authorities’ commitments to macroeconomic and structural reforms under the IMF’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF), as well as the draft 2027 budget,” the Fund said.
According to Ukraine’s Ministry of Finance, its leadership, headed by Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko, has begun three days of talks with IMF experts on Ukraine’s economic outlook and the parameters of the draft 2027 state budget.

“During the week, we plan to agree on the next steps in our cooperation, taking into account the current economic conditions and the state budget’s needs for 2027,” Marchenko said.
On February 26, 2026, the IMF Executive Board approved a four-year, $8.1 billion Extended Fund Facility programme for Ukraine for 2026–2029 to support the state budget. Of this amount, $2.2 billion has already been disbursed.
