Two people were killed and 10 injured in a massive Russian attack on Kyiv, with damage reported across seven districts of the Ukrainian capital.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the largest number of casualties was recorded in the Solomianskyi district, where two people were killed and eight others aged between 22 and 65 were injured. The victims suffered cuts and shrapnel wounds, including injuries to the face, neck, torso and limbs.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said five of the injured were hospitalised, two of them in serious condition.
In the Holosiivskyi district, debris fell at several locations, causing fires in warehouses and on the grounds of a private school. A residential building was also hit by debris, leaving people trapped in their apartments, while an unfinished 26-storey building was damaged. A 62-year-old man sought medical assistance after suffering an acute stress reaction.
In the Darnytskyi district, warehouses were damaged and caught fire, while a garage near a private house burned and a car was damaged. A 29-year-old foreign national was injured.
Fires were also reported in residential and non-residential buildings in the Solomianskyi district and at warehouse facilities in the Podilskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts. In the Dniprovskyi district, emergency services contained a grass fire.
Kyiv police said damage and falling debris were recorded in the Shevchenkivskyi, Holosiivskyi, Darnytskyi, Obolonskyi, Podilskyi, Solomianskyi and Dniprovskyi districts. Apartment buildings, a school, shops, an administrative building and vehicles were among the properties damaged.
Emergency services, explosives experts and police remain at the affected sites, extinguishing fires, documenting damage and collecting evidence. Authorities said information on the full consequences of the attack is still being clarified.
