President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy received letters of credence from the newly appointed ambassadors of foreign states: Algeria – Ahmed Ouail, the Philippines – Alan Deniega, Australia – Jeff Bowen, and Moldova – Victor Chirilă.

The Head of State welcomed the ambassadors at the start of their diplomatic missions in Ukraine and thanked them for supporting the country and its independence.

“We discussed Russia’s war against Ukraine, the protection of our people, as well as the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region. Our partners emphasize the importance of our security mission and cooperation with countries currently under attack by the Iranian regime. Our goal is absolutely clear: we must increase security everywhere and do everything possible to end the war and guarantee reliable protection,” the President said.

In a separate meeting with the Ambassador of Algeria, the parties discussed deepening the partnership. Ukraine is interested in expanding cooperation in the energy sector. They also highlighted Ukraine’s important role in ensuring food security for Algeria.

“We are glad to welcome you to Ukraine. We have significant trade turnover between our countries in 2025, even during the war. And we want this level to grow,” the President said during the conversation with Ahmed Ouail.

The Head of State thanked the Ambassador of the Philippines for his country’s principled position in supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.

“Best wishes to your President. I remember my meeting with him in 2024 and our visit to your wonderful country. We had a very good conversation. And we are ready to welcome him to Ukraine,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

Alan Deniega noted the symbolism of presenting the letters of credence on the 34th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.

During the meeting with the Ambassador of Australia, the President thanked the Australian government and people for supporting Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war.

“I hope we can continue to count on this support, particularly your military assistance. We are grateful for the decision on the PURL program, which is very important for protecting our skies, especially during such a difficult winter as we have had,” Zelenskyy added.

With the Ambassador of Moldova, the parties discussed key priorities of bilateral cooperation, Ukraine’s and Moldova’s European integration, and mutual support on this path. Victor Chirilă noted that in his position he would do everything to further strengthen good neighborly relations between the countries. He emphasized that Ukraine is a strategic partner for Moldova.

“Thank you for highly valuing Ukraine’s role in Moldova’s security and independence. And, of course, the movement of our countries toward the European Union is very important. Today, the most important thing is to remain united in the face of various challenges,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
