The Netherlands has announced an additional contribution of €35 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, bringing the total support provided through the Fund to €100 million.

The €35 million new contribution from Dutch partners will be used to install solar PV systems on building rooftops through the “Ray of Hope” initiative. The project aims to ensure power supply for critical infrastructure, primarily hospitals, even during emergency outages of centralized electricity following Russian attacks.

“We thank the Netherlands for their steadfast support of Ukraine’s energy sector,” said Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Denys Shmyhal.

To date, the total signed contributions from international partners to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund exceed €1.8 billion. At the same time, due to targeted Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, the country’s energy sector needs continue to grow.
