Ukraine continues to strengthen its state border with Belarus and is boosting defensive capabilities in the northern direction.

This was reported by State Border Guard Service spokesperson Andriy Demchenko.

"This direction is reinforced by various components of our country’s Defense Forces, and the state border itself is being strengthened with fortifications to ensure that all Ukrainian soldiers and all components of the Defense Forces in this area have every capability to counter any threat that could come from Belarus. Along the more than 1,000 km we share with Belarus, from Volyn to Chernihiv, we are constantly enhancing our defensive capabilities," said Demchenko.

At the same time, he noted that Ukrainian border guards have not observed any changes or movements of equipment or personnel in Belarus near the border with Ukraine. The situation is under continuous monitoring by intelligence and State Border Guard units.

Demchenko emphasized that the border with Belarus has remained a potentially threatening direction for Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion.
