In recent days, Russian troops have been attempting almost daily to storm positions held by Ukrainian border guards in the direction of Vovchansk Hutsory in the Kharkiv region, but are suffering significant losses.
This was stated in a television broadcast by State Border Guard Service spokesperson Andriy Demchenko.
According to Demchenko, shelling of border areas in the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions continues without interruption. The Russian forces mainly uses drones, and also employs artillery and aviation.
“When it comes to attempts of advance by infantry groups, I can note the Kharkiv region direction, in particular toward the settlement of Vovchansk Hutsory. Practically every day in recent days the enemy continues to try to storm positions held specifically by border units, but fortunately it is unable to achieve success, instead suffering heavy losses, including cases where occupiers are taken prisoner,” Demchenko said.
The State Border Guard Service spokesperson also reported that Russian forces have recently intensified attempts to advance in infantry groups in the Kupiansk direction. Assault actions by the Russian forces also continue in the defensive sectors of Ukrainian units in the Pokrovsk direction.
