Ukrainian Security Service Special Operations Center A forces, together with other Defence Forces units, carried out a successful strike on the Moscow Oil Refinery (Moscow region, Russia), fulfilling tasks set by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The distance from Ukraine’s state border to the target is about 500 kilometers.

This is the largest oil refinery in Moscow. The facility supplies a significant share of fuel to the Russian capital, provides key volumes of gasoline and over 50% of diesel fuel for the region, and also supplies fuel to Moscow’s airports.

As a result of the strike, a large-scale fire broke out near the facility. According to preliminary information, a key primary oil processing unit, considered the “heart” of the refinery, was damaged.

In addition, drones operated by the SSU successfully struck the infrastructure of the Poltavska oil depot in Russia’s Krasnodar region, where a fire also broke out.

“Due to falling debris from a UAV, a fire broke out at an oil depot in the settlement of Poltavska in the Krasnoarmeysky district,” the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar region reported.

Еhe fire was extinguished after six hours.

It is noted that the oil sector is one of the main sources of Russia’s budget revenue, which finances the war against Ukraine. Strikes on such facilities inflict multi-million losses, disrupt production and logistics chains, and reduce Russia’s economic capacity to continue its armed aggression.
