Counterintelligence officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) have detained another suspected Russian agent in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The woman allegedly helped direct Russian missile and drone attacks against defence enterprises and civil society organisations supplying equipment to Ukrainian troops.

According to the investigation, military and volunteer facilities in Dnipro and the surrounding region were among her targets.

SSU officers identified the suspect, documented her alleged activities on behalf of Russia and detained her at her residence.

Investigators established that the woman was originally from the Donetsk region and had moved to the Dnipropetrovsk region in September 2025. According to the SSU, she came to the attention of Russian intelligence through acquaintances living in Russian-occupied territory in eastern Ukraine.

After being recruited, the suspect allegedly travelled around the area on foot or by public transport, photographing and filming facilities she believed could be used to support Ukrainian forces on the front line.

She also documented the consequences of previous Russian strikes in the region to report the results to her Russian handlers.

During searches, SSU officers seized a smartphone containing evidence of her alleged cooperation with Russian intelligence.

SSU investigators notified the woman of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of Ukraine's Criminal Code, which covers high treason committed under martial law.

The suspect remains in custody without the possibility of bail. If convicted, she faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
