North Korea has delivered millions of artillery shells to Russia and is preparing to send more troops to support the war against Ukraine, according to a report by South Korea’s intelligence agency, as reported by Yonhap.
South Korean intelligence estimates that North Korea may have supplied Russia with over 12 million 152 mm artillery shells. In total, analysts believe around 28,000 containers filled with weapons and ammunition have been sent to Russia.
The report clarifies that, when broken down by individual items, the number of 152 mm shells could exceed 12 million units.
In addition to weapons shipments, North Korea is actively supporting Russia with personnel. According to intelligence data, Pyongyang has already sent more than 13,000 troops to assist Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The South Korean intelligence services also believe that North Korea is preparing to send another military contingent, which could be deployed to Russia as early as July or August of this year.
