Ryazan oil refinery targeted in another drone attack

A group of drones carried out an attack on an oil refinery in Ryazan, Russia, during the night of Friday, May 15.

This was reported by the Telegram channel ASTRA.

During the night of May 15, residents of Ryazan reported a large number of explosions.

The Ryazan Oil Refinery is part of the structure of Rosneft. It is one of the largest oil refining enterprises in Russia, with a processing capacity of about 17 million tons of oil per year. The Ryazan refinery produces all grades of automobile gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, fuel oil, liquefied gases, bitumen, and petrochemical feedstock.

 

 

The facility has previously been targeted by drone attacks on multiple occasions.

According to Ryazan Region Governor Pavel Malkov, three people were killed and 12 were injured as a result of the attack on the city.

Since the beginning of this spring, seven Russian oil refineries have already suspended oil processing operations due to Ukrainian drone attacks. In particular, the Saratov Oil Refinery was put out of operation on March 21, Nizhny Novgorodnefteorgsintez on April 5, the Tuapse Oil Refinery on April 16, the Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery on April 18, the Syzran Oil Refinery on April 22, Kirishinefteorgsintez on May 5, and Permnefteorgsintez on May 7.
