The Russian military has destroyed a warehouse belonging to the World Health Organization (WHO) in Dnipro that stored emergency medical supplies.
The WHO Country Office in Ukraine announced the attack in a statement published on Facebook.
Russian forces struck the facility during the afternoon of Friday, August 7.
No casualties were reported. A WHO staff member and truck drivers had been at the site earlier that day, helping transport part of the medical supplies. The team managed to move 130 of approximately 300 pallets and leave the area before the strike.
The supplies stored at the warehouse were intended for healthcare facilities in frontline areas and consisted primarily of WHO emergency medical kits.
"Damage to facilities supporting humanitarian and medical operations makes it more difficult for organizations to deliver critical assistance to people and health systems across the country," the organization said.
Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the WHO has verified 3,148 attacks on healthcare facilities in Ukraine, resulting in 240 deaths and 1,055 injuries.
