A fire broke out at a Ukrainian Red Cross warehouse in Kherson following a Russian drone attack on the evening of August 23, damaging and destroying humanitarian supplies worth nearly UAH 28 million.
The Ukrainian Red Cross reported the incident on Facebook.
The damaged and destroyed supplies included equipment and materials intended for preparations for the autumn and winter period, as well as emergency stocks used to respond to the consequences of Russian attacks, including materials for temporarily covering damaged buildings.
The warehouse also contained medical supplies, blankets, hygiene kits, equipment for providing water and electricity, and other humanitarian aid.
No Ukrainian Red Cross employees or volunteers were injured.
“Despite the loss of humanitarian supplies, the Ukrainian Red Cross continues its work in Kherson and the region. Our teams will continue responding to the consequences of attacks and providing people with the assistance they need,” the organisation said.
