The Norwegian parliament’s website has been targeted by a DDoS attack, with a Russian hacker group claiming responsibility.

The Norwegian parliament’s website has been partially unavailable since 15:00 local time on Monday.

A Russian hacker group claimed responsibility for the incident.

According to the NTB news agency, the incident was a so-called DDoS attack, in which a website is overwhelmed with traffic.

The Russian hackers said on Telegram that disruptions to the website would continue for three hours.

In recent years, Norway has been targeted by several cyberattacks, including attacks on the BankID system and the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority. Last year, the Bremanger dam was also targeted, resulting in a gate being opened and water flowing freely for four hours.
