Russian forces have significantly increased the intensity of air strikes and drone usage in southern Ukraine, including FPV drones, loitering munitions, and Shahed-type drones.

This was reported by Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces.

“Over the past day, 21 air strikes using 116 guided aerial bombs were recorded, and over the past month the enemy used 2,261 guided aerial bombs. This is a fairly high rate of use,” he said.

According to the spokesperson, over the past two to three weeks the Russian forces has also increased the number of kamikaze drones — from 1,600–1,700 to 2,300.

“In the Prydniprovskyi direction — almost 800. A month ago it was 500–550. A significant share consists of ‘Lancet’ and ‘Molniya-2’ drones. In the south, there are now 700–750 such drones daily,” Voloshyn added.

He also reported that nearly 55,000 drones were recorded over the past month, compared to 50,830 in March.

“The highest numbers are in Zaporizhzhia region (35,000–37,000) and Kherson region (18,500). We destroy a significant part of them, but the enemy is increasing the number of strikes. In recent days, the number of Shahed drones has also increased — up to 2,800 per month, meaning up to 100 per day in the south,” the spokesperson emphasized.
