A Russian drone attack on Kryvyi Rih’s largest shopping complex killed at least five people and injured 91, including children.

According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, the attack was carried out in two waves. Around half an hour after the first drone hit the shopping centre and caused a fire, a second strike targeted emergency services responding at the scene.

“Such strikes are simply an act of terror. The world must respond with real pressure on the aggressor. For there to be peace, Russia must face real responsibility,” Zelensky said.

The first strike caused a major fire inside the shopping complex, prompting an emergency rescue operation.

The casualty figures rose repeatedly in the hours following the attack. The latest reported toll stands at five people killed and 91 injured. Twenty-one of the wounded are in serious condition, including one child.

Earlier reports said that at least six children were among those injured.

Emergency services continued working at the site, while authorities warned that the casualty toll could change as the rescue operation progressed.
