Russian attacks on Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk leave 16 injured

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces intensified attacks across multiple regions of Ukraine, targeting residential areas, infrastructure, and energy facilities. Reports from local administrations indicate dozens of settlements were struck, leaving at least 16 people injured and causing extensive damage to homes, vehicles, and public facilities.

Zaporizhzhia Region:

The Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported that 668 strikes hit 32 settlements over the past day. Six people were injured in the Zaporizhzhia district. Russian forces carried out 13 airstrikes and launched 359 UAV attacks, primarily FPV drones, on cities and towns including Zaporizhzhia, Novomykolaivka, Mykhailo-Lukasheve, and Stepnohirsk. Six multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS) strikes and 290 artillery strikes were also recorded. Authorities received 74 reports of damage to residential buildings, vehicles, and infrastructure.

Kherson Region:

Two people were injured as a result of drone attacks, airstrikes, and artillery shelling, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional State Administration. Among the affected settlements were Kherson, Antonivka, Beryslav, and Dudchany. Damage was reported to five multi-story apartment buildings, five private houses, an administrative building, a store, gas pipelines, and vehicles.

Sumy Region:

Russian forces struck 33 settlements, leaving three people injured. Attacks affected the Sumy, Shostka, Okhtyrka, and Konotop districts. In Sumy city, windows of a children’s hospital, a medical facility, a private clinic, and an apartment building were damaged. In Velykopysarivska and Chernechchynska communities, civilians and property were affected, while other local communities reported damage to homes, vehicles, and infrastructure facilities.

Kharkiv Region:

Eight settlements were attacked, resulting in five injuries, including a 15-year-old child, according to Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration. Strikes on the village of Tetianivka caused injuries and acute stress reactions. The attacks involved nine Heron-2 drones, four Molniya UAVs, and an additional drone of unknown type. Homes, vehicles, warehouses, and railway infrastructure were damaged in multiple communities including Ivashky, Tetianivka, Vilkhivka, Slatyne, and Lozova.

Dnipropetrovsk Region:

In the Nikopol district, nearly 10 attacks using FPV drones and artillery fire were recorded, according to Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration. Fires broke out and infrastructure was damaged in Nikopol and the Pokrovska community, though no injuries were reported.

Chernihiv Region:

Russian forces carried out 63 strikes on 15 February, with 118 explosions recorded, damaging residential buildings, according to Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration. Several settlements were hit, including Semenivka, Novhorod-Siverskyi, and Snovsk. In Semenivka, a private house and a company vehicle were damaged by strikes from a missile and an FPV drone. In Snovsk, a house caught fire after a Geran drone strike. Firefighters worked on-site, and one unexploded drone damaged an outbuilding. Over the past week, Ukrainian defense units shot down 79 enemy strike drones in the region.
