Russian forces carried out a series of overnight and daytime attacks across several Ukrainian regions, damaging energy infrastructure, residential buildings, and civilian facilities, while killing at least five people and injuring dozens more, regional authorities reported.

In Mykolaiv region, a nighttime Russian strike targeted energy infrastructure on December 18, causing power outages in parts of the Voznesensk and Mykolaiv districts. According to regional governor Vitalii Kim, most consumers have already been reconnected, and restoration work is ongoing. No casualties were reported. Earlier, on the evening of December 17, a Molniya-type strike drone hit the city of Mykolaiv, damaging windows in two apartment buildings, a bus, a passenger car, and a gas pipeline.

In Kherson region, two people were killed and six others injured over the past day as a result of Russian drone attacks, airstrikes, and artillery shelling. Regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin said dozens of settlements, including Kherson city, Beryslav, Antonivka, Zolota Balka, and Chervonyi Maiak, came under fire. The attacks damaged apartment buildings, private homes, an administrative building, a car dealership, gas infrastructure, buses, and civilian vehicles.

Russian forces also shelled the Nikopol district with Grad multiple rocket launch systems and carried out FPV drone attacks on Marhanets and the Pokrovske community.

In Donetsk region, Russian forces killed three civilians on December 17—two in Druzhkivka and one in Kostiantynivka—and wounded four others, according to regional governor Vadym Filashkin. The overall toll in the region has reached 3,772 killed and 8,609 wounded, excluding Mariupol and Volnovakha.

In Kharkiv region, two settlements were hit by Russian strikes, leaving one 50-year-old man injured in the village of Zamist, part of the Velykyi Burluk community. The attacks involved guided aerial bombs, Geran-2 drones, Shahed-type UAVs, and other drones. Private houses, outbuildings, and vehicles were damaged in Kupiansk and Izium districts.
