Since the beginning of the day, 180 combat engagements have already taken place between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops. Russian forces continue to attack most intensively in the Pokrovsk direction, while showing increased activity in the Huliaipole and Oleksandrivka directions.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, publishing operational information as of 16:00 on Thursday, January 29.
The Russian army carried out artillery strikes on the areas of Khrinivka in the Chernihiv region; and Kucherivka, Rohizne, Studenok, Budky, Bezsalivka, Yastrubshchyna, Iskryskivshchyna, and Ryzhivka in the Sumy region.
In the North Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Russian forces conducted seven attempted offensives and 37 shelling attacks, including two using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the South Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian forces launched 11 attacks in the areas of Vovchansk, Starytsia, Tykhe, and toward Ternova, Hrafske, Vovchanski Khutory, Hryhorivka, and Kolodiazne.
In the Kupiansk direction, ten combat engagements occurred, five of which are still ongoing. Russian forces are attempting to advance near Borivska Andriivka and toward Kupiansk, Petropavlivka, Pishchane, and Novoosynove.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops repelled nine attacks by Russian forces in the areas of Drobyshcheve, Stepiv, Hrekivka, and toward Druzhliubivka and Stavky.
In the Sloviansk direction, Russian forces made two attempts to advance toward Zakytne. One combat engagement is ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces did not conduct any offensive actions.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, Russian forces carried out 15 offensive actions near Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Rusyn Yar, and toward Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Berestok, Stepanivka, and Sofiivka. One attack is still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces made 77 attempts to push back Ukrainian defenders in the areas of Toretske, Nykanorivka, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Rivne, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Novomykolaivka, and toward Kucherovyi Yar, Vilne, Bilytske, Novyi Donbas, Hryshyne, Novopidhornie, Muravka, Ivanivka, and Filiia. The Defense Forces are holding the line and have already repelled 65 attacks.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, Russian forces attacked 19 times near Verbove and toward Ivanivka, Iskra, Oleksandrohrad, Oleksiivka, Danylivka, and Novo Zaporizhzhia. Havrylivka was hit by an airstrike using guided aerial bombs.
In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 25 attacks by Russian forces near Huliaipole and toward Dobropillia, Radisne, Varvarivka, Zelene, Pryluky, Zaliznychne, Olenokostiantynivka, Sviatopetrivka, and Staroukrainka. In addition, Russian aviation carried out airstrikes on Verkhna Tersa. Nine combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces launched two attacks toward Lukianivske and Pavlivka.
In the Dnipro direction, the Defense Forces repelled an attack by Russian forces toward the Antonivskyi Bridge.
No significant changes in the situation were recorded in other directions.
