On the night of April 28, 2025 (starting at 11:30 p.m. on April 27), the Russian forces launched an attack using 166 strike UAVs and other types of decoy drones from the areas of Kursk, Millerovo, and Oryol in Russia.
The main directions of the attack were the Sumy and Cherkasy regions.
The enemy’s aerial assault was countered by aviation, air defense missile units, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
As of 5:00 p.m., the confirmed downing of 40 strike UAVs of the Shahed type (and other types of drones) was reported in the eastern, northern, and central parts of the country.
74 decoy drones were lost without causing any damage.
As a result of the attack, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Sumy, and Cherkasy regions suffered damage.
