During the night of August 3 (from 6:00 p.m. on August 2), Russia launched an attack using 181 strike UAVs, including Shahed drones (among them jet-powered variants), Gerbera, Italmas, and Parodiya decoy drones. The drones were launched from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, and Shatalovo in Russia, as well as from occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The air attack was repelled by Ukrainian Air Force aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 7:30 a.m., Ukraine's air defense had shot down or suppressed 163 UAVs, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other drone types, over the country's northern, southern, and eastern regions.

A total of 14 strike drones hit targets at 13 locations, while debris from intercepted drones fell at two locations.
