Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces continued their aggressive operations across Ukraine, targeting civilian and infrastructure sites in multiple regions.
Zaporizhzhia Region
In Zaporizhzhia, 590 strikes hit 15 settlements, resulting in one death and 22 injuries, including four children, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration. Russian forces carried out 12 airstrikes on Balabyne, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Bilohiria, Chervone, and Uspenivka. Additionally, 406 UAV attacks—mostly FPV drones—targeted Tavriiske, Bilenke, Plavni, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, and other communities. Four multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS) strikes hit Zaporizhzhia, Plavni, Chervone, and Novodanylivka, while 168 artillery strikes struck various towns. Authorities reported 329 instances of damage to residential buildings, schools, vehicles, and commercial properties.
Kirovohrad Region
A large-scale Russian drone attack left part of Kropyvnytskyi and 44 settlements without electricity, Andriy Raikovych, head of the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration, reported. Infrastructure facilities were primarily targeted, and some private homes in Oleksandrivka were damaged.
Poltava Region
In Poltava, debris from a downed Russian drone caused a fire at a local enterprise. Volodymyr Kohut, head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, noted that the fire was extinguished promptly by the State Emergency Service, and no casualties were reported.
Donetsk Region
Russian attacks in Donetsk resulted in one death and nine injuries, according to Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration. The total number of victims in the region now stands at 3,639 killed and 8,138 injured, excluding Mariupol and Volnovakha.
Kherson Region
Over the past day, Russian aggression caused one death and 11 injuries in Kherson, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration. Dozens of settlements, including Antonivka, Bilozerka, Mykilske, and Kherson city, came under drone attacks, airstrikes, and artillery fire. Nine apartment buildings, 17 private houses, farm buildings, garages, and vehicles were damaged.
On the morning of September 17, a guided aerial bomb struck Inhulets in the Dariivka community, injuring three adults and a child. Prokudin reported that victims, including a 3-year-old girl, sustained concussions, blast injuries, and head trauma, and are receiving treatment in hospitals.
Sumy Region
Russian forces carried out 129 strikes across 46 settlements in Sumy, mainly in Sumy and Shostka districts. Attacks included guided aerial bombs, UAV strikes, VOG grenade drops, FPV drone assaults, and MLRS shelling. Damage was reported to non-residential buildings, private homes, and civil infrastructure. Four people were evacuated from border communities.
Kramatorsk
On the night of September 17, Russian forces targeted a hotel in Kramatorsk with two Geran-2 drones. Oleksandr Honcharenko, head of the Kramatorsk City Military Administration, reported no casualties. Authorities are assessing damage and clearing the area.
