This week alone, Russia launched more than 1,900 attack drones, 1,700 aerial bombs and 25 missiles at Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on Telegram.
“This week alone, the Russians used more than 1,900 attack drones, 1,700 aerial bombs and 25 missiles against Ukraine. More than 800 of the drones were jet-powered, and Russia must be held accountable for this escalation,” Zelensky wrote.
He noted that overnight, Russian forces launched 135 attack drones at Ukraine, more than 50 of them jet-powered. Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Sumy and Zaporizhzhia regions came under attack. According to Zelensky, the main targets included ordinary residential buildings and critical infrastructure — everything that supports normal daily life. Power outages have been reported in several communities, with emergency services working at the affected sites.
“This morning, the Russians again struck Kyiv’s Pivnichnyi Bridge with a drone. They attacked an ordinary medical supplies warehouse in Sumy with drones. Unfortunately, one person was killed. My condolences to the family and loved ones. In Dnipro, a communications facility was struck. Six people were injured in these attacks,” the President wrote.
Zelensky stressed that it is important that Ukraine does not face this terror alone.
“Today, German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz is visiting Kyiv. Germany has consistently demonstrated leadership in protecting the lives of Ukrainians from Russian strikes. We are grateful for all the support. Today, we are preparing decisions that will give us in Ukraine and throughout Europe greater capabilities to defend ourselves. There will be important agreements between Ukraine and Germany. Russia must be stopped together. Thank you to everyone who is helping,” Zelensky adдснс
