The President of Ukraine’s Fund has selected 10 universities as winners of the UK–UA Visiting Professors Programme. Professors from the universities of Cambridge, Oxford, Edinburgh, Leeds, Warwick, and other top global institutions will come to Ukraine to teach Ukrainian students.

This was reported by the President of Ukraine’s Fund for the Support of Education, Science, and Sports.

“The programme focuses on medicine, astrobiology, mathematics, computer science, aerodynamics, energy, neurophysiology, soil restoration after the war, and artificial intelligence in education — the fields Ukraine needs for defense, reconstruction, and technological development,” the announcement says.

The programme winners are:

  • Bukovinian State Medical University invited David Jayne from the University of Leeds, a leading European expert in robotic surgery and medical technologies.
  • Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv invited Charles Cockell from the University of Edinburgh, a world-renowned astrobiologist studying life in extreme conditions.
