Port in Odessa region hit by Russian strike, civilian ship reportedly damaged

On the morning of May 5, Russia struck the port of Odessa region, damaging a civilian vessel flying the flag of the Cook Islands, according to a statement from the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

“The crew was not injured. The latest strike was directed at civilian shipping,” the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority said on Tuesday.

According to the authority, the port is operating while taking security risks into account.

Emergency services are dealing with the aftermath.
