Poland scrambled military aircraft during a large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine overnight into Tuesday, September 8.
Polish Radio reported this.
“Polish aircraft are operating in Polish airspace,” the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces said.
The deployment of aircraft was described as a precautionary measure aimed at protecting the country’s airspace.
Meanwhile, residents of the Lublin and Subcarpathian voivodeships received an emergency alert from Poland’s Government Centre for Security (RCB). The alert was issued in response to Russia’s overnight attack on Ukraine.
In its message, the RCB urged residents to follow official announcements and stressed that the situation was under control.
