This week alone, Russia launched more than 2,000 strike drones against Ukraine, most of them jet-powered, as well as 1,700 aerial bombs and 19 missiles of various types.
President Volodymyr Zelensky reported this on Facebook.
“Just this week, Russia launched more than 2,000 strike drones against us, most of them jet-powered, 1,700 aerial bombs and 19 missiles of various types,” Zelensky said.
He recalled that yesterday, in the Kherson region, Russian forces struck a monastery with an FPV drone, killing one member of the clergy and injuring four others. According to the President, critical and civilian infrastructure was targeted in the Kharkiv, Sumy and Odessa regions. Residential buildings were hit in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. The Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Zhytomyr and Cherkasy regions also came under attack beginning in the evening.
“Ukraine is constantly looking for and finding ways to defend itself and respond to these attacks on life. It is important that our partners also look for and find ways to make Russia feel the consequences of its war. Now is the right time to take new sanctions measures against the aggressor and press for peace through strength. The United States has the means to do this, Europe has them, and so do all the G7 countries. We are counting on new, strong steps,” Zelensky concluded.
