Oschadbank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development have agreed to prepare joint instruments to support Ukrainian businesses, the bank’s reported.

Oschadbank Chairman of the Management Board Yurii Katsion and EBRD Managing Director and Head of Financial Institutions Francis Malige signed a mandate letter in London for the preparation and implementation of a risk-sharing mechanism within EBRD programmes.

“This concerns the development of a joint instrument that will significantly expand Ukrainian enterprises’ access to financing through partial coverage of credit risk by an international financial institution. The possibility of forming a financing portfolio of up to €510 million is being considered, within which the EBRD may assume up to 70% of the credit risk for certain operations,” the statement said.

Priority support under the programme will be given to enterprises that have suffered losses or damage due to the war; relocated businesses; companies contributing to economic recovery; as well as businesses run by veterans, internally displaced persons, and women-led enterprises.

As of now, the total financing limit under risk-sharing programmes implemented by Oschadbank together with the EBRD since the beginning of 2024 has reached €300 million.
