In the Kharkiv region, the number of strikes on the city of Bohodukhiv and surrounding villages has significantly increased in recent days: 50 of the 80 drones launched by Russian forces over the region in the past day were directed at this area.

This was reported to journalists by Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

“If we look at the region: we had about 80 drones, and the largest share — about 50 — were aimed at Bohodukhiv and nearby settlements. They struck exclusively civilian infrastructure: private houses, bank branches, and gas stations. The enemy has chosen this settlement and continues to terrorize the local population,” Syniehubov said.

According to him, the situation was discussed the day before with the military command responsible for the defense of the entire Kharkiv region and with those in charge of this specific sector.

“There are measures in place, equipment is available, and we are now doing everything possible to effectively counter this,” he noted.

He added that Russian forces are striking the Bohodukhiv district almost every hour.

“We are continuing to take steps to counter such an onslaught and mass shelling. ‘Molniya’ drones, ‘Shahed’ drones, and other types are being used. The enemy has chosen a tactic of not leaving even a single hour without strikes, which of course complicates response efforts, emergency medical work, and the operations of the State Emergency Service and energy workers. The energy infrastructure of this area is under constant attack,” the head of the administration said.

The strikes have severely affected the lives of the local population.

“People can hardly go outside, let alone move around, because the enemy is also targeting civilian vehicles,” Syniehubov noted.

He confirmed that such massive attacks on Bohodukhiv are unprecedented; previously, the city had only experienced isolated strikes.

“We will analyze the situation. The front line in that direction is stable. As for possible concentrations of military groups that would indicate the start of a large-scale assault, there is no information at this time. However, that is only as of now. The situation is under constant control of our Armed Forces,” Syniehubov emphasized.
