The Norwegian government has announced a new military aid package for Ukraine worth 2.8 billion kroner (approximately $302 million).

This was reported by the Norwegian government press service.

The funds will be provided through the U.S.-led PURL mechanism, which coordinates financing and delivery of modern weapons. Norway’s total contributions through this programme have now exceeded $1.35 billion.

The allocated resources will help meet the priority needs of Ukraine’s Defense Forces in 2026. In particular, the support is aimed at strengthening air defense, purchasing ammunition for long-range artillery, and expanding the drone fleet through the capabilities of Ukraine’s defense industry.

Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre urged other European partners to increase their contributions in order to ensure rapid delivery of necessary equipment to Ukraine.

The expansion of support comes amid new participants joining the PURL programme following a recent informal EU summit.

Joint financing of U.S. aid packages enables faster adaptation of military supplies to battlefield needs and helps sustain Ukraine’s defense capabilities in the long term.
