The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defence of Norway have signed a memorandum of cooperation to launch the joint defence technology support programme Brave-Norway.

As reported by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov on Telegram, the memorandum establishes a strategic partnership in the field of defence innovation.

“We signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Defence of Norway — a strategic document on partnership in developing defence innovations. Within this framework, we are launching the Brave-Norway programme, with an initial budget of €20 million,” Fedorov said.

According to him, the cooperation under Brave-Norway will include grant support for startups developing innovations in UAVs and other defence technologies. Joint hackathons will be held to find practical battlefield solutions, and modern platforms will be created to integrate research institutions.

From Ukraine’s side, the programme will be implemented by the Brave1 Defence Innovation Cluster. Norway’s €10 million contribution to the Innovation Development Fund will be allocated to a grant programme supporting game-changing technologies for the war effort, which will be tested in Ukraine.
